The idea behind how to grow your hair long is this - your scalp, with its many blood vessels, bring the essential nutrients and vitamins to the base of your hair follicle and allowing the hair growing from those follicles to eat, grow and reach their full potential. Well, that's actually true only in theory.

Unfortunately, many many of us do not have enough blood coming to the scalp with good quality food to allow maximum growth. And then other things we get involved in like smoking and drinking and abusing our bodies etc etc, further lower the chances of our bodies carrying out any normal growth processes. Then there's the environment and climate (cold, heat, dry & wet) and the over-treating and 'hair abuse' as I call it. All these things add to the misery that is the condition of our hair.

So, for your hair to achieve the right growth rate and levels, you need to give it the food that it needs to grow as soon as and as fast as possible. Period. Obvious I know, but needs mentioning, even just as a reminder. How you can do this is why this book was written.

In theory, to get the best hair you ever had, you would have to do three things:

You need to stimulate the scalp enough to encourage the blood vessels at the bottom of the hair follicle to deliver more blood than usual to the follicle so that the follicle can get the nutrients from the blood that it needs to make your hair grow.
You need to make sure that the nutrients that come to your hair are actually what it needs to grow (so eat right etc).

...and you need to be consistent and treat your hair with care!
