Ancient records tell us that exercises were used as a means of penis enlargement thousands of years ago. Weight loss supplements haven't changed much over the years. I started dieting over 30 years ago and although the names have changed, the ingredients are about the same...stimulants and appetite suppressants. There are some new offerings, but they are derived from age-old wisdom.

Traditional healers described them as herbs that cleanse or strengthen the blood. They were aware of the function of some of the body's organs, but most conditions were believed to be associated with "blood" problems.

They understood poisons and they had antidotes for some of them. Some of the best healers were aware that small amounts of poison, ingested over a period of many years, could build up in the body and cause death. They would prescribe herbs that cleansed the body of those poisons.

How is this relevant to weight loss supplements? We are exposed to poisons on a daily basis. We usually refer to them as toxins. Toxins build up in the digestive system and the organs of our bodies, leading to chronic illnesses.

One of the organs that are greatly affected by those toxins is the liver. The liver plays many roles in the human body; one of them is to cleanse the blood. Another is to convert stored fat to energy that the body's cells can use. If it is not functioning at full efficiency, it obviously cannot perform that role.

Of course, cleansing is not the only effort that you need to make. If you want better health, for the rest of your life, you should avoid exposure to those toxins, by eating more organic foods, fewer processed ones and drinking more purified water.

Of course, any kind of weight loss supplements are only a small part of the solution. A good daily nutritional supplement, a healthy diet and regular physical activity are all important. Strength building exercises are often overlooked by people that need to lose fat, because the "experts" focus on aerobics.

Strength building exercises build muscle. Muscle is active tissue that burns calories when your body is at rest. Just a slight increase in the lean muscle mass on your body can greatly improve your ability to control your weight and it will also improve your appearance. Choosing some good weight loss supplements that are not stimulants might help, but don't forget to build some muscle.
